The Importance of a Website
While this week’s blog does not include a man in a pink thong bikini, we thought it could be a fun way to answer another question we receive. People want to know why we do not post our blogs directly on social media site. Wouldn’t it just be easier on everyone if we did? This week I wanted to break down why we don’t do that and more importantly why a website is essential for your business.
Never Have We Ever - Full Time RV Life Edition
We thought it would be fun this week to break down some myths and stereotypes people have asked us about in this new lifestyle. Here are a few things we have never done as full timers. Never slept at Walmart, arrived in the dark, been homeless, ran out of money or driven into Mexico.
How Do We Live Without a Microwave?
Another question we get from fellow campers and many of our kid’s friends and parents when they were younger is this, “how do you live without a microwave?”
How We Choose: Boondocking, Harvest Host, Campground, and the Pink Thong?
How We Choose: Boondocking, Harvest Host, Campground, and how a pink bikini can change it all.
Simple Tricks to Improve Year 2 on the Road!
This week we wanted to share a few changes we made to our travel strategies for our second year on the road.
Our First Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta! Part 2
Not only was this our first time ever attending the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, but it also happened to be the 50th anniversary of the event! As complete air balloon newbies it was awesome to find ourselves in the VIP section of one of the largest balloon events in the world, attending this event has been on Andrea’s bucket list for quite some time.
Our First Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta!
In our first year of applying, we hit the jackpot. Getting selected in the lottery for a spot at the coveted Airstream Rally at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. More on that next week. First off though, we wanted to share our story of getting to Albuquerque because just like life, it isn’t always about the destination.
Naked What?
We thought it was time we shared how “Naked Acres” came to be and why it has become our summer resting place.
What Day Is It?
When we decided to embark on this lifestyle, one of our personal goals was to get more control of our time.
Our lives seemed to be flying and we had grown tired of the hustle and bustle, the traffic jams, and the “I’d like to talk more but gotta go” conversations that filled our days.
Where had all of our time gone?
Love, Laughter, and Healing
What we did not know or expect was how this theme of celebrating a life lost, would open doors to healing conversations that were desperately needed.
Family bonds were strengthened, new friends became “chosen family” and the tears of open, honest communication were followed by hearty laughs throughout the night.
Our Big Summer Purchase
One of the philosophies we had when we set out was to get on the road before making big decisions, expensive modifications, and purchases.
Rooftop solar? Lithium battery bank? All great ideas and would certainly help the right campers but not a necessity to get started.
That’s a Wrap – Summer 2022 Gig
We are grateful as we depart the place that brought us laughs, new skills, friends, and memories that will last forever. It’s hard not to have a good time when you are serving beer, wine, and good food to people on vacation from all over the world!
It’s Been a Year, Our Travelversary!!
At times it’s hard to believe we’ve been on the road for a year already. However, when we are sharing our memories of the people and places from our travels, it seems like this has been our lifestyle forever.
Why We Share Our Story?
After a year of learning, laughs, mistakes, memories, smiles, tears, and above all, love, we thought it might be a great time to share why we chose to tell our story in the first place.
The Imperfect Story of Our Tiny Home
It’s a story of risk, reward, lessons learned, tears, laughter, and above all “adventure”.
Until We Meet Again
The past couple weeks we have been a bit quieter than normal on social media as we have been dealing with the loss of a family member.
Andrea’s father, Ed “Pops” Skinner passed away and onto a better place over the weekend.
4th of July
Seeing him happy, smiling, and at peace living the life he wants to live not one based on the expectations of others, is one of the greatest gifts a child can give their parents.
Where will the Kids Call Home?
During our planning and preparation for life on the road this was a question we struggled with.
Where would our children go for the holidays? To have a home cooked meal, a bed with extra pillows, and just to be comforted by the love of mom and dad?
Rediscovery and Perspective
Full timing is all about new experiences and discovery. When we travel to a new place, see new sites, learn about new cultures and people, it has the potential to unlock something inside of us.
Pace of Life
In a world constantly on the go, fixated on grinding, hustling, and filling your day with as much as possible we wanted different. Full time rving has allowed us to take greater control of our pace of life.
