Paraiso Misional RV Park
One of our favorite campgrounds in all of Baja, Mexico is Paraiso Misional in beautiful San Ignacio! A perfect stop over as you travel the peninsula in search of whatever your heart desires
Baby Sea Turtle Release
This was just a short 15-minute drive up Highway 19 from our campground in El Pescadero to the town of Todos Santos. If you are down here visiting Baja Sur, this area was definitely our favorite! Be sure to follow us on instagram to get more videos like this.
Crossing the Border
Our first sunrise over the Sea of Cortez was amazing and consistently seeing them in new places is one of our favorite parts of traveling. The different sounds that accompany it, the tide coming ashore, the birds crashing down looking for fish, it all help put our worries, doubts, and fears into perspective. Nature continues to do its thing day after day as it has for many years, whether we are paying attention or not. I am always reminded of the consistency required to do something great and create lasting impact.
You Want to Live in a RV?
No sir or ma’am, we are going our own way. We will be the king, sheriff, and sole determiner of how we spend our days out in nature. We are done answering to anyone else it’s just us and all this beauty. That is…. until your gray and black tanks are full!
You Want to Live in a RV?
In our second year of full timing, we can attest, there are many amazing days and opportunities we have experienced because of the lifestyle. Meeting many great people, seeing incredible places, and loving the freedom to move about as we choose. However, we also feel a responsibility to make sure we share some of our truths of the lifestyle so that if you are considering making the jump you have a realistic picture of what to expect.
The Campfire that Changed Everything
As Andrea stood up to stoke the fire it happened out of nowhere. No warning signs. No chance to intervene or pre-empt it. I still get chills and flashbacks just telling this story which maybe is part of the reason it happened. To ensure we are not on auto pilot in our own relationships. As I sat in my chair enjoy the conversation, things suddenly changed.
Simple Tricks to Improve Year 2 on the Road!
This week we wanted to share a few changes we made to our travel strategies for our second year on the road.
Our First Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta!
In our first year of applying, we hit the jackpot. Getting selected in the lottery for a spot at the coveted Airstream Rally at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. More on that next week. First off though, we wanted to share our story of getting to Albuquerque because just like life, it isn’t always about the destination.
That’s a Wrap – Summer 2022 Gig
We are grateful as we depart the place that brought us laughs, new skills, friends, and memories that will last forever. It’s hard not to have a good time when you are serving beer, wine, and good food to people on vacation from all over the world!
Why We Share Our Story?
After a year of learning, laughs, mistakes, memories, smiles, tears, and above all, love, we thought it might be a great time to share why we chose to tell our story in the first place.
The Imperfect Story of Our Tiny Home
It’s a story of risk, reward, lessons learned, tears, laughter, and above all “adventure”.
Rediscovery and Perspective
Full timing is all about new experiences and discovery. When we travel to a new place, see new sites, learn about new cultures and people, it has the potential to unlock something inside of us.
Wildcat Philosophy, French Rum, and The “Happiness” Business
It got us thinking though as we left the next day, westbound stocked up on the best French rum, stories, and a slight hangover.
What if we were all in the “happiness business”?
Living The Dream
We are blessed to be told by many that we are in fact “living the dream”. Some who aren’t quite full time yet but aspire to be will even add that we are “living THEIR dream!”
I find that last statement to be quite an honor. In choosing this life for us, others are seeing possibilities in their lives as well.
What people find interesting though is when we share our TRUTH with them.
CAMPING IN FLORIDA FACT OR FICTION?
We knew camping during the winter in Florida would be a logistical challenge, but we wanted beaches, oceans, and palm trees.
So, we accepted the challenge and spent January through early April wintering in south Florida.
Now that we are back in the west, we wanted to share what we learned with all of you.
Hitting the Brakes – January Recap
Andrea and I had been craving community and were feeling like that was the missing piece of our travel adventures. While we enjoyed our time together, the new scenery, and changing locations, we were missing small talk with friends and getting to know someone new.
A Mother’s Instinct
When we drove away from our home for the last time with our new house in tow, we knew it was for only temporary.
Wait a second you might say.
You may ask, what is going on? We thought you said you were living in the Queen full time for at least a year.
November 2021 Full Time RV Recap
Three months into living full time on the road and it is still hard at times for Andrea and I to accept this is our life.
There are still mornings we wake up and must remind ourselves this is not just another vacation, a weekend getaway, or a holiday trip, but it is our life!
This is Where the Story Begins
It was here in nature the idea of full time RV life got it’s roots. As our kids we leaving home, and the nest was emptying, we craved more. The story begins here..
