November 2021 Full Time RV Recap

River Walk in Savannah, Georgia one of our favorite places to visit

Three months into living full time on the road and it is still hard at times for Andrea and I to accept this is our life.

There are still mornings we wake up and must remind ourselves this is not just another vacation, a weekend getaway, or a holiday trip, but it is our life!

We feel blessed to be living this lifestyle and sharing it with you all, so thank you for following along with us.

November was a much more deliberate pace of travel and one that allowed us to reconnect with friends, family, and really explore the places we were in. It was a lot of fun learning about the history and culture that so enriches the experience of visiting the southeast.

Here are the places we stayed during the month of November:

Indian Rocks Travel Park, Largo Florida                                  Celestial Farms, Jacksonville, Florida

Red Gate Farm RV Park, Savannah, Georgia                         Hargreaves Home, Beaufort, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach State Park, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina    Carolina Beach State Park, Wilmington, North Carolina

Cracker Barrel Parking Lot, Brunswick, Georgia                   Washburn Equestrian Campground, Tampa, Florida

                                             Hampton Inn, Miami, Florida

Airstream under our “Tree of Life” in Washburn Equestrian Campground, Florida

We spent 7 nights free camping, 11 nights in state parks, 9 days in private campgrounds, 1 night in a friend’s driveway, 1 in a parking lot, 1 at Harvest Host location and 1 night in a hotel 😊

November brought us our first major holiday away from our family and friends as we celebrated Thanksgiving quietly in Florida with a dinner of grilled burgers and sweet potatoes. We were able to facetime with Trey and Taiya from Arizona and enjoyed watching them make Texas Toast and Hamburger Helper on their first Thanksgiving away as well.

It was an adjustment not being with everyone on such a traditional holiday and something we have discussed scheduling into our travels next year.

The slower pace allowed Andrea and I to get a lot more work done since we were not traveling nearly as often. Andrea made her podcast debut, when we recorded an episode of the Rootless Living Podcast which we are excited to share with everyone when we get a release date.

Our most memorable part of the month was our weeklong visit with her sister and our niece in North Carolina. We really enjoy being able to see friends and family in their spaces without giving up the comforts of ours.

A close second was our time together in Savannah, Georgia. This was special because Andrea and Taiya had come here for gymnastics quiet a few years ago and loved it. Our trip was a chance for Andrea to share her favorite places, memoires of that special time, and create new ones for us.

The Prohibition Museum, the river walk, the architecture and watching the port load the barges were all amazing stops and something we highly recommend to do when in town. We ate fresh seafood almost every day and were rarely in the campground because of the time we spent in Savannah and Tybee Island.

Andrea has been able to explore her love of the beach and especially the small beach towns we can find on our trips. Kure Beach in North Carolina, and Tybee Island, South Carolina were among our most favorite smaller beach towns.
