4 Hidden Life Gems in Full Time Rving
An unforeseen blessing of our new lifestyle has been all the “life gems” or hidden lessons that were waiting out on the road for us.
Over the next four weeks we will share four of our favorite “life gems” with you.
Real Conversations
Living minimally and needing less “things” has allowed us to have more freedom in how we choose to spend our time.
One way we enjoy our newfound freedom is in our conversations.
No longer are we constrained by the 80 second attention span rule that permeated our professional lives.
No more “elevator pitches”, “highlight reels”, or “sorry I don’t have times”.
Conversations are not about who is right or wrong, but to understand and learn.
We have time to ask follow up questions, dig deeper, and interact with an open and curious mind.
Andrea and I love our campfire chats with our new neighbors, and we have been amazed at the friendships we have created.
When you slow down and create time and space for others to share with you it is amazing at how much more in common you have than you might originally think.
We have shared campsites and fire circles for weeks with people with differing political and social views, backgrounds, education levels, and life goals.
All those views were fun to hear, learn from, and understand more about and the truth is behind all of them is a human being just like us.
One that wants to be heard, loved, and allowed to be themselves.
This space has also allowed us to learn much more about each other and to deepen our love after 23 years of marriage.
Discussions about who we want to become, how we want to grow old, and how we can better serve each other, are allowing our relationship to grow and to truly become each other’s best friend.
